This article details the different data quality states within the FLOWBIO App.
About
The Sensor captures and analyses your sweat throughout your session every 8 seconds. Each measurement point is assessed to ensure that the values you see represent your sweat composition. As with any electronic sensor, irregularities in the data can occur, such as:
- Limited or no sweat capture, for example, when the device is too loose or moved during your workout.
- System noise, due to movement or being in an electronically noisy environment;
- Data dropout due to movement of or moving the S1 during the workout.
Our advanced software detects each of these instances. Advanced algorithms discard or keep each data point and can even recover data drops, ensuring that data integrity is maintained at all times.
Within each session history, a small block in the top scroll bar details the session's integrity from both a fluid and sodium loss perspective.
Fluid Loss
| Icon | Meaning | Description |
| Scenario 1. The session is too short or too low intensity | We were not able to capture any sweat during this session. Most likely, the exercise curation was too short, or the intensity was too low. We require a minimum exercise of 30 minutes to provide you with the most accurate results using a stable sweat response. Please ensure your duration is at least 30 minutes and your integrations are set up correctly in the app. | |
| Scenario 2. Good session. | Your real-time session metrics determined your fluid loss successfully for this session. We established this through the S1 and advanced algorithms that incorporate your personal exercise metrics. |
Sodium Loss
| Icon | Meaning | Description |
| Scenario 1. No data, no history. | The S1 could not capture enough sweat to accurately determine your sodium loss. In most instances, the lack of capture is caused by the S1 not being flat on the body or too loose. Please ensure the device is positioned entirely flat on your upper arm or back and held tightly in place. If you require further information, please see our video and user manual for tips on how to wear the Sensor. | |
| Scenario 2. No sweat was captured, which means no sodium data could be recorded. | The S1 was unable to capture enough sweat to accurately determine your sodium loss. Your sodium data for this session has been determined using advanced modelling on your personal sweat history. Please ensure the device is positioned completely flat on your upper arm or back and that it is held tightly in place. If you require further information, please see our video and user manual for tips on how to wear the S1. | |
| Scenario 3. System noise and data drops. | Above-normal data drops and noise were detected, meaning your real-time data plot could not be established. Your sodium data for this session is based on good-quality data segments recorded during your session. For optimal data quality, please ensure the device is positioned tightly and limit the movement and lifting of the device during your workout. | |
| Scenario 4. Good Data. | Your full trace, recorded in real-time, could be established with minimal data drops. The sodium value for this session is the average of the entire time you have been sweating. |
